SERVANTLEADERSHIP

To model servant leadership and equip others in a God-given direction through Christlike character, leadership capability, and love.

Overall Reflection Statement for Servant Leadership

To demonstrate my competence in servant leadership, I am submitting artifacts from the workshop training.  The ministry workshop training was a continuation of our leadership training done back in August.  I am helping each member of the ministry to maximize their God given talent in the ministry where they are currently serving.  We had an opportunity to look at the strength finder grid and analyze the ministry team as a whole.

Also, to demonstrate my competence in servant leadership, I partnered with Linda Vista Apartments in helping with their fall festival by taking pictures and assisting with activities at the event.

Learning Reflection

This started out just as an opportunity to fulfill an assignment, but turned into a heartfelt blessing for me.  I was embraced by the community as I went about taking pictures.  They really made me feel a part of the event.  This event gave me an entirely different respective on servant leadership.  I could see where my presence was greatly received by the community.

Lifelong Development Statement

As a result of the leadership workshop trainings, I will hopefully continue to offer leadership training workshops and classes for future leaders.  We just recently completed our first leadership class through DTS.  I will continue to work with our Christian Education ministry with future course offerings.

I will remain connected with Linda Vista Apartments and other apartments in the area. This experience has given me the opportunity to serve in an area of need for the community.  I had the opportunity to love others without expecting anything in return. I am currently working with Heights Baptist Church to launch a Sports Outreach program for the apartments that are located in the Spring Valley and Coit area.  This will allow me to continue engaging with the community by serving through sports.

Artifacts
These documents were designed for New Mt. Zion Baptist Church leadership training classes. I met with each leadership team listed below to review the team strength grid. Click on the different boxes to see the grid.
